HURRICANE FLOYD

A Federal Emergency Declaration (FEMA 3143-EM-FL) was issued on September 14, 1999 for 12 counties. The counties are Brevard, Broward, Dade, Duval, Flagler, Indian River, Martin, Nassau, Palm Beach, St. Johns, St. Lucie and Volusia. The Federal Emergency Management Agency will provide debris removal (Category A) and emergency protective measures (Category B) including direct Federal assistance at 75% Federal funding. 16, 1999


On September 22, 1999, President Clinton determined that the damage in certain areas of the State of Florida, resulting from Hurricane Floyd on September 13, 1999, and continuing is of sufficient severity and magnitude to warrant a major disaster declaration under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, P.L. 93-288, as amended. (FEMA-1300-DR-FL)Incident Period: September 22-25, 1999.

Additional designations may be made at a later date after further evaluation.
