The Department of Community Affairs encourages Local Mitigation Strategy Working Groups to continue efforts to ensure adoption of their strategies by local governments. Future Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and Flood Mitigation Assistance funds will be contingent on such policies being in place at the local level.
