Hazard Mitigation Grant Program - Project Status Updates
This site is designed to provide a status update on all project applications submitted for funding under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) This site will be updated bi-weekly. The list of projects is provided by disaster as follows:
2006/2007 Tornadoes
2005 Hurricane Season
Hurricane Dennis- (FEMA-1595-DR)
Hurricane Katrina- (FEMA-1602-DR)
Hurricane Wilma- (FEMA-1609-DR) (Updated 2/15/2007)
For each event, the HMGP Allocation Report, which is a monthly report that summarizes the funding status of HMGP projects, is provided. The projects are listed in priority order as provided by the respective county’s Local Mitigation Strategy Working Group. Projects that have been denied, withdrawn, de-obligated, transferred, or lack funding have been noted and a “0” balance is in the expected federal share column. All others projects have been reviewed or currently under review. For these projects, the report shows:
- The county, disaster number, project number, LMS priority and tier as provided by LMS Working Group and project title;
- Expected federal share-represents the total federal share allocated for the project by the respective county LMS Working Group;
- Total obligation-represents the total federal share obligated or approved for this project by FEMA. If a “0” appears in this column, the project has not been approved for funding by FEMA.
- Phased I obligation-represents the total amount approved by FEMA for funding to assist the applicant with obtaining all needed engineering, design and related permits. Phased projects are normally the large-scale drainage projects that require extensive engineering documentation to derive all potential mitigation benefits.
- Old allocation-represents the original amount of funds allocated to the county LMS Working Group for mitigation projects.
- New allocation-represents a revised or reallocated amount of funds, which is made available to the county LMS Working Group for mitigation projects.
NOTE: Final approval of wind mitigation projects designed to retrofit existing structures to serve as shelters are under review for compliance with ARC 4496 or EHPA standards. Additionally, all other wind retrofits may be on hold for clarification on design wind speeds for structures to be retrofitted.
