The Local Mitigation Strategy
Working with Communities to Develop Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plans

The Florida Department of Community Affairs will assist Florida's counties and municipalities in revising their Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) plans. This will be in the form of funding and technical assistance throughout the revision process. In accepting these funds, counties and municipalities agree to revise their LMSs based on criteria outlined in the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000.
