These programs help to rebuild lives and communities that have been impacted by a major disaster, and to reduce the impact of future disasters through mitigation.

  • Citizen Corps
    Citizen Corps Imformation

  • Community Emergency Response Team
    Citizen Corps Imformation

  • Disaster Reservist Program
    Provides additional human resources to support the states' actions in a disaster or on an "as needed basis".

  • EMPA Trust Fund Grants
    Programs administered by the Grants Section of the Finance and Administration Section

  • Fire Assistance
    State Agencies and Political subdivisions of the state. (city, county, and districts)

  • Flood Mitigation Grant Program
    Reduce or eliminate the long-term risk of flood damage to buildings, manufactured homes, and other structures insurable under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)

  • Hazard Mitigation Grant Program
    Partnership that is designed to assist states, local governments, private non-profit organizations and Indian Tribes in implementing long-term hazard mitigation measures following a major disaster declaration.

  • Hazardous Materials Planning & Awareness - SERC
    Responsible for implementing federal EPCRA provisions in Florida and serving as a technical advisor and information clearinghouse for state and federal hazardous materials programs. http://www.hazmat.floridadisaster.org/

 

  • Individual Assistance
    informs affected individuals and businesses through press releases and outreach efforts that programs are available to them and to assist them in obtaining any entitled aid.

  • Intergovernmental Relations Team
    Up-to-date information on the emergency itself, and is also equipped to provide information on various grant programs and funding sources available to affected areas in the aftermath of disaster.

  • National Flood Insurance Program
    Pre-disaster flood mitigation and insurance protection program designed to reduce the exalting cost of disasters.

  • Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program
    Assist communities to implement hazard mitigation programs designed to reduce overall risk to the population and structures before the next disaster occurs.

  • Public Assistance
    Primarily address the repair and restoration of public facilities, infrastructure, or services which have been damaged or destroyed.

  • Office for Domestic Preparedness Grant Program
    Enhance the ability of the State of Florida to prevent, deter, respond to and recover from threats and incidents of terrorism involving the use of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) weapons and cyber attacks

  • Hurricane Shelter Survey and Retrofit
    Eliminates the statewide hurricane evacuation shelter deficit and creates shelter space in emergencies.

  • Residential Construction Mitigation Program
    Building Safer, Stronger Homes in Florida
