Basic Incident Command - Required for all staff, either FEMA's Independent Study Course or equivalent training.
CURRICULUM TRACK
As a new Division of Emergency Management employee, your initial responsibilities are two fold:
Orientation and training in your daily programmatic responsibilities.
Orientation and training in basic emergency management principals, Emergency Operations Center operations and your specific emergency function.
Upon completion of this curriculum track, you should have a functional knowledge of basic emergency management. Additionally, you will have earned credit toward the “Professional Development Series” certificate and the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association “Associate/Professional” certification. The training curriculum/timeline is outlined below in an interactive format. The “study questions” included with selected sections are designed to highlight the most pertinent material in that section. The “study questions” are to be completed in an “open book” fashion and submitted to Division Director's Office and placed in your personnel file as a record of training.

CURRICULUM TRACK
Advanced training in emergency management concepts and Emergency Operations Center operations.
Provide training in “universal” professional skills.
Completion of training and exercise requirements for Florida Emergency Preparedness Association “Associate Certification.”
Progression toward completion of Professional Development Series Certificate.
