2012 Hazardous Materials Awareness Week
Governor Rick Scott has proclaimed January 22 – 28, 2012 as “Hazardous Materials Awareness Week” in Florida. Joining Governor Scott in commemorating the educational week is the Florida Division of Emergency Management, in partnership with the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) for Hazardous Materials and the Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPCs). This year’s theme is: Mercury.

DEADLINE FOR RETROFITTING BULK STORAGE CONTAINERS
No later than July 1, 2011 , all existing propane containers over 4,000 gallons water capacity must be retrofitted with an internal valve equipped for remote closure and automatic shutoff using thermal actuation. Please view the "Information Bulletin 06-03" for further information.
