CITIZEN CORPS - Over the past months America has witnessed a wellspring of selflessness and heroism. People in every corner of the country have asked, "What can I do?" and "How can I help?" Citizen Corps has been created to answer these questions.
BLUEPRINT FOR SAFETY - This program is designed to provide accurate, current and reliable information about disaster-safety building techniques and features to help families become better prepared for floods, hurricanes, wildfires and windstorms.
FLOOD INSURANCE - The National Flood Insurance Program, is a pre-disaster flood mitigation and insurance protection program designed to reduce the escalating cost of disasters. The National Flood Insurance Program makes federally backed flood insurance available to residents and business owners.

DISASTER ASSISTANCE - Assistance is available for affected individuals and businesses after a Presidential disaster declaration. The 1st step for individuals or business that require assistance it to call the Federal Emergency Mananagement Agency's National Tele-registration Center :

Once an application is processed, further assistance will be coordinated through a Disaster Recovery Center , which may be established in each of the declared counties or regionally. Representatives of federal, state, local, and volunteer organizations are made available to help disaster victims who are applying for assistance.
