Attorney-Client Communication Information
Step 1: Complete the Required Forms
- Legal Counsel Visitation Request Form (Complete all sections clearly.)
- ICE Form G-28
Step 2: Submit Documents
- Email the completed forms to Legal@Privacy6.com.
Step 3: Receive Confirmation
- You will receive email confirmation from Legal@Privacy6.com when your credentials have been cleared.
- Meetings will be accommodated according to availability.
Visit Reminders
- Bring a valid photo ID.
- All attorneys will be granted entry once credentials are verified.
- All visitors must follow facility protocols.
Meeting with a Client or Prospective Client
Legal visits are provided in a timely, free, confidential manner. All in-person and virtual legal meetings are unmonitored and unrecorded.
In-person and virtual meetings with clients and prospective clients may be scheduled in advance. To schedule a meeting, email Legal@privacy6.com. Attorneys that arrive at the facility without prescheduling a meeting will be required to submit the Legal Counsel Visitation Request Form upon arrival. After the attorney’s credentials are verified, a meeting will be accommodated when a private meeting room becomes available. All meeting requests will be accommodated in the order in which they are received.
- In-Person Meetings: Attorneys may visit clients and prospective clients in private meeting rooms.
- If attorneys would like to schedule a meeting to reserve a private room in advance, they can email Legal@privacy6.com.
- If attorneys arrive without notice, private meeting rooms will be provided as they become available.
- Virtual Meetings: Via Zoom or phone call
- Tablets are available to most detained aliens in ICE facilities for confidential, unmonitored, unrecorded legal meetings via zoom.
- Detainees can request cell phones for free, confidential, unmonitored, unrecorded outgoing legal calls. The facility is in the process of acquiring additional cell phones for confidential phone calls.

South Florida Detention Facility Contact Information
If you need information about a detainee that is housed at this facility, you may call (305) 207-2100 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. When you call, please have the individual’s biographical information ready, including first, last and hyphenated names, any aliases he or she may use, date of birth, and country of birth.
Detainees cannot receive incoming calls. If you need to get in touch with a detainee to leave an urgent message, you must call (305) 207-2202 and leave the detainee’s full name, alien registration number, and your name and telephone number where you can be reached. The detainee will be given your message.

ERO eFile is an online system for the filing of electronic G-28s with ERO and the scheduling of legal visits through ERO eFile’s Detention Facility Appointment Scheduler (DFAS).
Legal mail is written correspondence to or from a detainee’s attorney/legal representative, courts, or other authorized legal entities.
Incoming Legal Mail
Attorneys should address legal mail to 54575 Tamiami Trail E, Ochopee, FL 3414 and clearly mark the envelope with the words “Legal Mail” and display the detainee’s name and A number. Incoming legal mail will be handled in accordance with facility procedures to protect confidentiality while maintaining facility safety and security. Legal mail may be inspected for contraband as authorized, and when required, it will be processed under controlled conditions before it is provided to the detainee.
Outgoing Legal Mail
Detainees may send legal mail to attorneys, courts, and approved legal agencies. Outgoing legal mail must clearly include the detainee’s name, ICE A-Number, and the facility return address, and must be properly addressed to the legal recipient. Detainees requiring assistance with sending legal mail should submit a request form.
All protocols are available in the Detainee Handbook, which is provided to detainees upon arrival. Additional copies are available to detainees upon request.
Attorney-Client Communication Information is posted in English, Spanish, and Haitian-Creole by each detainee telephone, in every housing unit, and in common areas throughout the facility.
